January 4, 2017 – New Beginnings

New Beginnings – Daily Challenges

Hey There Everyone… So, it’s another new year…so it’s suppose to be the beginning of WHAT?   We start over?   We begin again?  What is it exactly that we are suppose to do?

Besides putting up our new calendar! (Mine was a gift from friends!) Remember to write 2017 on the check (that’s in the mail)! Make new years resolutions that we know we aren’t going to keep. (I’ve already done that and it’s only the 4th day).

Even the first verse in the first chapter of the first book of the Bible states ………  IN THE BEGINNING….

So maybe there is something to new beginnings, new starts, and even a new year !

New Beginnings – The Bible Says

Genesis 1:1 In the Beginning God created the heavens and the earth…

Well, at least we don’t have to do that !!!

Genesis 2:22 And the rib, which the Lord God had taken from man, made he a woman..

Genesis 3:6 And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat.

And everything changed, there was a new beginning: knowing good and evil.

Simply put, the difference between right and wrong.

New Beginnings  – What else can we do?

So, what do we do with the beginning of this new year?

Maybe, just maybe a simple way to start would be to try to make better choices and good decisions.

Knowing and remembering that our choices and decisions affect the ones we love too.

Try not to put too much pressure on ourselves about our failures or shortcomings, God does allow for second, third, and fourth chances.

Matthew 18:14 Even so it is not the will of your Father which is in heaven, that one of these little ones should perish.

Bible Verse: “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Jeremiah 29:11

  1. Nice job Karen! Dick and I have both have seen it and think it is easy to read clearly understandable. It says a lot while saying a little. A quick and easy go to for a daily devotion or thought for the day. Well done!
