Ready, Set, GO – Daily Challenges
Did we make it to the finish line yet? What do we mean, NO? Why not? What’s slowing us down?
Not enough hours in our day to do what we need to. Never mind getting to do what we want to.
Remember, needs and wants are two very different things.
We need a roof over our heads, we need to eat (that’s always a good thing). Then there are the kids, the car, clothes, and a few other things along the way. So, we need the job to pay for all those things. (And hopefully it does)
But we want everything and everyone to be perfect all of the time. (Or at least some of the time, kindof, maybe, or maybe not!)
The truth is: There was only ONE perfect person and He died on a cross, so we wouldn’t have to.
Ready, Set, GO – The Bible Says
Around and around we go….but the Bible says:
1 Corinthians 14:33. “For God is not the author of confusion but of peace…..”
Matthew 6:34 “Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.”
Habakkuk 2:2 “And the Lord answered me, and said, Write the vision, and make it plain upon tablets, that he may run that readeth it.”
(This refers to the common practice of writing public notices with such large characters on the clay tablets that someone running by could easily read them. KJVSB)….kind of like our billboards are today. (Do we really even see them anymore, other than in a blur?)
Luke 10: 38-42 “Now it happened as they went that He (Jesus) entered a certain village; and a certain woman named Martha welcomed Him into her house. And she had a sister called Mary, who also sat at Jesus’ feet and heard His word. But Martha was distracted with much serving, and she approached Him and said, “Lord, do You not care that my sister has left me to serve alone? Therefore tell her to help me. “And Jesus answered and said to her, “Martha, Martha, you are worried and troubled about many things. But one thing is needed, and Mary has chosen that good part, which will not be taken away from her.”
Ready, Set, GO – What else can we do?
Remember to “Just Breath” – After all, it is the “Breath of Life”.
Genesis 2:7 “And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.”
Try to take a moment to breath and let it go.
Count to ten and do it again.
One moment. – One breath…
Two moments – Two breaths…
Three moments – Three Breaths… and so on and so on.
Remember that feeling….it’s called CALM.
Webster’s dictionary defines it as: Freedom from storms, high winds, or rough activity…Free from agitation, excitement, or disturbance…
So let’s get off the roller coaster ride and hop on the carousel ride. (Remember those!)
Slow and steady, around we go; but we go, slow and steady.
