October 1, 2017 – Olives For Us All

Daily Challenge

An Olive is a small oval fruit with a hard pit and bitter flesh.

These are some most troubling times.

The earth is speaking loudly as if she’s coming apart at the seams.

Although our human race is calico, our eyes still see black and white.

With all the forecast and fortunes told, the whirlwind approaches.

What day will it be and which hour will chime,
when Heaven and Earth pass away?

Within all the spectacles and obstacles,
how are we to find our hope?

What Else Can We Do?

Hope is a feeling or expectation and desire for a certain thing to happen.

When we place our full hope in people, we will not always overcome.
When we place our full hope in an object, we will be disappointed.
When we place our full hope in false gods, we will not survive.

Our full hope needs to be placed in only one – Jesus Christ.

The One and Only, Who will not ever fail us.

Try not to be consumed by our surroundings,
turn off the news for today,
and remember Who we belong to.

The Bible Says

Matthew 24:3
Now as He sat on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to Him privately, saying, “Tell us, when will these things be? And what will be the sign of Your coming, and of the end of the age.

Daniel 6:26b
For He is the Living God, and steadfast forever. His kingdom is the one which shall not be destroyed, and His dominion shall endure to the end.

Psalm 30:7
And now, Lord, what do I wait for? My hope is in You.

Bible Trivia: What type of bird brought back an olive leaf to Noah on the ark?
(See Genesis 8:11) Then the dove came in the evening, and behold, a freshly plucked olive leaf was in her mouth; and Noah knew that the waters had receded from the earth.

Bible Verse: Lord, make me to know my end, and what is the measure of my days, that I may know how frail I am. Psalm 39:4
